The New Zealand tertiary education and qualifications have been categorized in various levels. Level 6 is an undergraduate diploma. Its 2 year in duration if you haven't done level 5 (which is 1 or 2 years in duration ) or generally 1 year after completing level 5 qualification.

Level 7 program categories have three types of qualifications (Bachelors degree - Graduate diplomas and a very few UG Diplomas).

As far as admission process for graduate level programs (post-bachelors degree programs) goes its more or less standard for most of the programs. The application in New Zealand institutes is easy and swift. Infact applications to almost all institutes are free.

The following documents are needed to apply to graduate programs.

Duly filled application form (Online/paper form)
Copies of all academic marksheets and degree completion certificate
English Proficiency test - IELTS/TOEFL (scores as per institutes requirements)
Copy of a valid passport
SOP (mandatory for specific programs)
Letters of recommendation (mandatory for specific programs)
Resume (mandatory for specific programs)
Copies of employment related letters (for specific programs)

I hope this will answer most of your queries posed.
